SPANX Week 5

This week was slightly slow, but it was kind of nice after the rush of last week. The head of PR was out of town, and with 4th of July, it was a short week! I really didn’t have a lot of tasks to do, so I was able to relax really and get everything settled in the office. I was able to stay with my grandparents, since they live right next to the office, and got to sleep a whole extra hour {thanks Mimi :)}And since my family was in town, it was really nice only working three and a half days and leaving every day by 5:30! Florence Day 1:

From London, we took a quick plane ride to Florence. Our first and only real day in Florence we spent sightseeing again. It was insanely HOT, which made walking around a little unbearable, but I was determined to see everything in a day. We started by looking at the Duomo, which I had studied in art history (nerd alert) and it is incredible. It’s so massive and beautiful, words or pictures cannot do it justice. We then went to a food market where you can literally buy any type of meat, cheese, wine, etc. It’s a massive building, but it smells amazing and some of the pasta looked incredible. From the market we finally got to go to the Uffizi Gallery, which was by far my favorite part of Florence (nerd alert x2). I played “tour guide” for my parents showing them some of the paintings I had learned about and was amazed that I actually remembered that much.. While we were there, we even ran into my good friend from Kansas who was studying abroad and had a few meals with her, which was nice to catch up and see her! Anyways, for as hot as Florence was, it is an amazing place and I highly recommend it.

London Day 2:

Day 2 was the day I had been waiting for — One Direction Day!! Clearly, my dad was very excited (the hotel even gave us the messenger bag)! I decided to go slightly casual and comfortable since it had been a long day and Wembley Stadium is open (but how cute, especially for Kiss You)… it was hot, for London anyways. It was one of the most magical nights Liam, Niall, and Harry all came to the side of the stage we were on, and I just fell even more in love with them than I already was. My love of boy bands has been around forever (Backstreet Boys was my first concert), but there’s something special about a British band. They sang all their songs and were so amazing. Although, the jet lag was catching up to me, and I was ready for bed by the end!
