London Day 4:

Today was by far my favorite day in London. We started our day by going to Stonehenge. It was a long drive, but definitely worth it. It’s such an interesting structure and the history behind it fascinated me (nerd status). After seeing the stones (there’s really not a ton to see there), we drove to Windsor to go see Windsor Palace. Since the Royal Ascot just occurred (as I’m writing this), Windsor was in preparations for the Queen’s arrival, which was pretty cool. You are not allowed to take pictures inside, but let’s just say I was able to walk up the same staircase as the Queen, but more importantly (to me) Kate, Will, and Harry! Windsor is massive, but so beautiful. I definitely recommend going to see it if you have the opportunity. I wanted to be comfortable since we were spending a lot of time in the car and as I mentioned in a previous post, it was unusually warm for England!

London Day 2:

Day 2 was the day I had been waiting for — One Direction Day!! Clearly, my dad was very excited (the hotel even gave us the messenger bag)! I decided to go slightly casual and comfortable since it had been a long day and Wembley Stadium is open (but how cute, especially for Kiss You)… it was hot, for London anyways. It was one of the most magical nights Liam, Niall, and Harry all came to the side of the stage we were on, and I just fell even more in love with them than I already was. My love of boy bands has been around forever (Backstreet Boys was my first concert), but there’s something special about a British band. They sang all their songs and were so amazing. Although, the jet lag was catching up to me, and I was ready for bed by the end!

London Calling

For as long as I can remember, I have obsessed with all things British. (Honestly, obsessed may be a bit of an understatement…) Anyways for our family vacation this year we decided to go to London, Florence and finish in Rome since those are the places I’m considering studying abroad. We did some pretty cool things at each place and will be sharing pictures from each day soon! Hope you enjoy!

 

London Day 1:

We landed in London in the late afternoon and went straight to Harrods after a quick freshen-up at the hotel. After just completing a huge project on Harrods for school I was really excited to dive right into the massive (330 departments) store!

This past Sunday it was so nice out, that Jenny and I decided to go to brunch in the Meatpacking District. Apparently we weren’t the only ones who thought this, as it seemed all of Chelsea was crammed into Pastis Sunday mid-morning. Luckily, we got there just in time to snag the last 2 person table. Since it was so nice out, we decided to take a stroll down the High Line after to spend some time outside. I love this crown sweater, I bought it in London (how perfect!)… it just warm enough, but not too warm. And since I was in such a “springy” mood, I decided to break out my lace printed jeans. They’re so cute and comfy and I just absolutely love them. The southern girl in me desperately wanted to break out my sundress, but I decided against it and I ended up loving how this outfit turned out. It’s such a comfy, cozy outfit, but ultimately looks cute all together!

Today was such a beautiful and spring-like day, I had to go out. I wanted to wear more spring-y colors, and lightweight fabrics since it was so nice, but my goodness it was windy {as seen by all my fabulous hair-do’s in the photos 🙂 } My friend Jenny, of the American Trender, and I spent the day on the HighLine walking around and just soaking up the sun! It was a great day, and apparently all of Manhattan thought so too — everyone has spring fever and was showing it! My Barbour jacket as recently become such a staple in my wardrobe (thanks Mimi & Poppy!). It keeps me warm enough, but not too warm, it has plenty of pockets, and I feel quite Kate Middleton-going hunting-but in a chic way. Anyways, we both enjoyed the beautiful weather outside while we have it!

Since it was so nice outside in New York over the weekend, I spent my day outside, but also at the Met. I wanted to be comfy, but still look cute and warm, but without all the heaviness of a huge jacket. This Barbour one keeps me warm, but not too warm, just perfect! It’s a pretty simple outfit, but my accessories added a little something extra to it. I definitely had my Gossip Girl Moment, while we were there!
