SPANX Week 6

This week was no different than the rest. I would get in, do the orders I had in the morning to send in and then wait for a new assignment. One project I was working on was transcribing a speech Sara gave at a conference. And let me tell you, it was no small undertaking. It was around 46 minutes and took me 2 days and 9 pages in word 🙂 But I was able to do it and my boss was impressed; though I was cross-eyed after staring at the computer for that long. This week was packed with a lot of meetings. 3 of which pertained to the intern project all the interns were working on. It was a really long week, and I’m thankful that it’s over. I can’t believe I only have a few more weeks left! Below is what I wore each day this week! Come back next week to find out about week 7!

SPANX Week 2

I can’t believe week 2 at SPANX has already come and gone. This week was a bit slower than last, but I sort of figured that, with the big move coming up in just 1 week! Everything at the office is crazy, and it’s starting to look more empty with everything moving over. I started the week working on spreadsheets and primarily did that the rest of the week. As boring as spreadsheets sound, I actually really enjoyed it… probably because it wasn’t a spreadsheet involving math! The interns all ended the week with breakfast with Jan Singer, SPANX’s CEO. She has the most fascinating background, and I really enjoyed listening to her and all her advice! All in all, it was another amazing week, and I feel as though this is starting to become a trend! Below is what I wore each day this week! Come back next week to find out about week 3!

Art in Florence

Florence Day 1:

From London, we took a quick plane ride to Florence. Our first and only real day in Florence we spent sightseeing again. It was insanely HOT, which made walking around a little unbearable, but I was determined to see everything in a day. We started by looking at the Duomo, which I had studied in art history (nerd alert) and it is incredible. It’s so massive and beautiful, words or pictures cannot do it justice. We then went to a food market where you can literally buy any type of meat, cheese, wine, etc. It’s a massive building, but it smells amazing and some of the pasta looked incredible. From the market we finally got to go to the Uffizi Gallery, which was by far my favorite part of Florence (nerd alert x2). I played “tour guide” for my parents showing them some of the paintings I had learned about and was amazed that I actually remembered that much.. While we were there, we even ran into my good friend from Kansas who was studying abroad and had a few meals with her, which was nice to catch up and see her! Anyways, for as hot as Florence was, it is an amazing place and I highly recommend it.
